My Gun is Pink & Murder at the Ballet

Presented by PAC Theatre Company, Feb. 2009

Theatre, All Ages

The Plymouth Arts Center Theatre Company announces its cast selection for “My Gun is Pink” and “Murder at the Ballet.” These two murder mystery comedies written by playwright Jeffrey Goffin, are directed by PAC Drama Chair, Kerrylynn Kraemer. Goffin’s My Gun is Pink and its sequel Murder at the Ballet are set in the forties. The shows will be held back to back, providing the audience with a delightful evening of suspense, fast action and humor. In both, the traditional murder-mystery roles have been reversed. Although similar in every other way to the world of detective mysteries of the forties, in this world, women are in charge. The detective, the police inspector, and other authority figures are women. In contrast, the roles usually played by women, such as the detective’s secretary, are men. The result is a satire on the detective genre and on gender-typing.

Private investigator Babe Archer, played by Kraemer, is a female Mike Hammer, Magnum, and Matt Houston rolled into one. She’s tough, fearless, and smart. Vernon, her handsome secretary will be played by Kent Radloff. Other cast members, (some with multiple roles) are: Kathleen Beuttenmueller as Liz King, Mike King, as Teddy Windermere, Kitty Lynne Klich as Lou, Bradsha, Nadya; Andrea Knowles as Chang Flaherty; Nicole Lett and as Price, Lucinda, Rash; Jacob Mulberry as Wayne and Colin Reiley, and Ned Brigantine, Mandy Radloff as Ashley; and Wendy Schuh as Angel Stark, and Karen McCain.
