The Youth Theatre Company, a community-based theatre specializing in both new and classic Theater for children and families, announces its upcoming summer production of “Feelin’ Groovy” to be presented Friday, July 17 at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, July 18 at 2:00 and 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, July 19 at 2:00 p.m. under the big-top tent located on the grounds of the Plymouth Arts Center, 520 East Mill Street, in downtown Plymouth. Created as a fundraiser for the Plymouth Arts Center, the original musical is a celebration of all things “60’s” through song, dance and story! From the Beatles to Jimi Hendrix, from Martin Luther King to John F. Kennedy, the show will feature a wide variety of musical and dance tributes as well a look at some of the most important political and social changes our country has ever experienced.
Musical tributes include a “greatest hits of the 60’s”, the Beatles, the musicals of the 60’s, and the folk songs of the 60’s. Dramatic sketches include a look at 60’s outdoor and indoor games, great speeches of the decade, Rowan and Martin’s Laugh-In and even a guest appearance by Tiny Tim himself! Community adult performers include: Kerrylynn Kraemer-Curtiss, Peter Hernandez, Jim Nass, Matthew Overby, Pat Connors-Scherer, Patrick Schirmer, Ken Stanczyk, Tim Talen, and Bob Travis.
Feelin’ Groovy is directed and choreographed by Patty Talen and produced by Tim Talen. Additional choreography provided by Ally McManus, Kelsey McManus, Emily Schirmer, Andy Talen and Jenny Talen. Musical direction and performance is provided by the YTC Electronic VW Hippie Band, directed by Cindy Howley and featuring the musical talents of Bob McManus, Keith Abler, Carly Delger and Tim Fehling. Technical support is provided by Chris Brooks.
Tickets for Feelin’ Groovy will be available Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. by calling the Plymouth Arts Center at 920-892-8409. Tickets are $5 for all general admission seating.
The Youth Theatre Company is a non-profit community theatre founded in 1988. The company has produced “Tom Sawyer” in 1988, “Tales of the Wild, Wild West” in 1990, “Aesop’s Fables “ in 1992, “The Pied Piper” in 1994, “Mountain Magic” in 1996, “Badger Tales” in 1998, “Story Surf’n” in 2000, “Cartunes” in the Spring of 2001, “Aesop’s Fables, Take ‘02” in 2002, “Go . . H2O!” in 2004, “Rhythm and Rhyme” in 2006, Tom Sawyer in 2007 and Jingle and Jive in 2008. The Plymouth Arts Center invites the community to slow down and savor the moment with a brand-new monthly event, Two Albums, Two Cocktails, launching on Wednesday, February 18, from 4 to 6pm and continuing on the third Wednesday of every month. This unique listening experience pairs two iconic, classic albums with two expertly crafted cocktails, creating the perfect midweek escape. Guests are encouraged to simply sit back, relax, and enjoy the music as it was meant to be heard—without interruptions.

Friday, March 27th, 6:30 PM, Tickets $5 Students, $10 Adults. Plymouth native, Annika Nelson, a student at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee, will present a special senior recital as she prepares for graduation. This performance offers the greater Plymouth community an opportunity to experience the culmination of her undergraduate studies in classical guitar prior to her official graduation recital.
