“Great art picks up where nature ends.” by Marc Chagall. You are invited to view and purchase artwork created at this year’s Paint the Towns in Fall Color, plein air event! For one week only, you’ll be able purchase an original created of our beautiful area, the paintings are stunning! Our hours are Tuesday-Friday, 10am to 4pm, and Sat. & Sun. Noon to 3pm. Don’t miss out, this is your chance to own an original painting!

Best of Show by Artist Lori Beringer, “Pattern of the Past” Judges notes- This artist has created harmony and tension with dappled light, cool colors against warm colors, soft edges and hard edges. Strong vibrant blues, with softer yellows and oranges. Beautifully executed use of paint to capture the nuances of light on a variety of surfaces.

Best of Fall Colors Award: Fall Crescendo- By Daniel Rizzi. Judges notes- Besides the fall colors being the central theme of this painting, I really enjoyed the placement of the tree trunks, and the negative painting of the sky on the leaves. It gave the sense of the leaves rustling in the wind.
2nd Place: Off the Rail- By Marc Anderson. Judges notes- The rhythm of structures and soft empty spaces creates a wonderful composition. The detail captured with such loose brushstrokes is also very impressive.

3rd Place: Autumn Dairy Farm- By Stephen Wysocki. Judges Notes- The complementary placement of purple in the shadow against the yellow sunlit wall is very striking in this painting. The artist’s use of strong saturated color is a dynamic way to lead the eye around the painting and away from the cows. Even the texture of the paint is a joy to look at.
*SOLD*Best of Historic Town Award: 2 Hour Parking- By Troy Tatlock. Judges notes- From the moment I saw this painting I wanted to step into the street and walk into the nocturnal scene of this town. The brushwork and use of color in the foreground make it feel other worldly.

Honorable Mention: Autumn Morning- By Keary Kautzer. Judges notes- There is a lot of energy in this grove of birch trees. The artist has built up layers of shapes, ideas, and colors, leaving little windows to see what came about earlier in the painting.

Honorable Mention: Outback- By Charles Ausavich. Judges notes- Is there really a place that looks like this? A good watercolorist has a plan, and save all of the white of the paper for the lightest areas in the painting. I enjoy the way this artist has worked at keeping the white paper to lead the eye through the composition.
Sunshine Award: Greenbush goes Yellow- By Tom Smith. Judges notes- Viewing this painting up close and then from far away gives you a greater appreciation for the energy of the brush strokes that create texture and move the eye around the scene. There is also a strong scene of “Sunshine”.

The Plymouth Arts Center invites the community to slow down and savor the moment with a brand-new monthly event, Two Albums, Two Cocktails, launching on Wednesday, February 18, from 4 to 6pm and continuing on the third Wednesday of every month. This unique listening experience pairs two iconic, classic albums with two expertly crafted cocktails, creating the perfect midweek escape. Guests are encouraged to simply sit back, relax, and enjoy the music as it was meant to be heard—without interruptions.

Plymouth native, Annika Nelson, a student at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee, will present a special senior recital as she prepares for graduation. This performance offers the greater Plymouth community an opportunity to experience the culmination of her undergraduate studies in classical guitar prior to her official graduation recital.
