Since their formation in 2014, Chicken Wire Empire has established themselves as one of the hottest up-and-coming bands in both the local and regional music scene. The band blends contemporary tones with traditional roots to create a bluegrass style that is entirely their own. Their inspired song writing, and showmanship makes this the kind of show that anyone can enjoy. The band members are: Ryan Ogburn (mandolin), Jordan Kroeger (upright Bass), Greg Brundage (Guitar), and Jon Peik (banjo), Ernest Brusubardis IV (fiddle.) www.chickenwireempire.com
Barbaro brings together some of Minnesota’s seasoned musicians for a delectable bluegrass feast. Kyle Shelstad began his journey in Montana starting the band the “Kitchen Dwellers.” Isaac Sammis comes from the Winona music scene having played banjo with “Tin Can Gin.” Max Graham is undoubtedly the kindest mandolin player in the Twin Cities area, leading multiple bands including everyone’s favorite “Kind Country.” Fiddler Rachel Calvert started playing bluegrass with the “Common Ground Company” and continues to collaborate with a number of exciting musical adventures. Chris Anderson has meandered the world of music from Classical to Klezmer and now is departing on his first voyage into the world of bluegrass. 2018 has been a year of exciting momentum for Barbaro. Following the release of their self-titled EP, the band is slated to perform at premier Midwest music festivals like Blue Ox, Boats & Bluegrass, and MBOTMA. Barbaro took home first place at the John Hartford Memorial Festival Band Contest, and looks forward to releasing a full-length album this spring. www.barbaroband.com
The Honeygoats, a Plymouth, WI based Bluegrass band, formed in September of 2016 when five life-long music lovers decided to come together to celebrate their musicianship. The group includes the musical talents of Jamie Odekirk on Guitar / Vocals, Dave Koebel on Dobro, Court Ramaeker on Banjo / Vocals, Justin Gigstad on Bass / Vocals, and Carter Shilts on Mandolin. With influences like Oscar Peterson, the Punch Brothers, and Pearl Jam, they’re always on a mission to offer up something a little different. Their unique blend of Americana Classics and original work have put them in high demand playing concerts, festivals, and private parties throughout Wisconsin and beyond. PAC audiences will remember the Honeygoats’ fantastic performance at the annual New Year’s Party/Big Cheese Drop. honeygoats.com
