“Alive in the Arts,” Plymouth Arts Center’s 29th annual juried exhibition will open in Gallery 110 North, Friday, May 3rd, 2024. Hector Acuna was the juror for this competition. He reviewed artwork from artists living and working throughout the state of Wisconsin and has chosen 67 pieces for this brand-new show. The public is invited to meet the artists at the opening reception Friday, May 3rd from 5-7:30 pm. Enjoy live musical entertainment presented courtesy of the Gypsy Swing Chicks, featuring Beth Munns - Keyboards and Accordion, Kate Pearce - Upright Bass, Karen Mani - Violin-acoustic/electric, and Linda Kelly - Guitar and Keyboards. Complimentary appetizers & desserts will be served with a cash bar. “Alive in the Arts” will be on display through August 2, 2024. The presenting sponsors are Robert & Phyllis Hoopman, Wisconsin Bank and Trust, and 20/20 Visions.
Awards for this show are determined at the Juror/Judge’s discretion from the actual work. The winning artists will be recognized during the opening reception Awards Ceremony at 6:00pm. Cash awards totaling $1000 and Merit Awards will be presented.
About the Judge: Hector Acuna is a professional artist and educator living in Grafton, Wisconsin. He studied at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point where he earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2015 before completing his Master of Fine Arts from Michigan State University in 2020. Hector has taught art classes in drawing, painting, sculpture, and color/design for private lessons, group workshops, and at the university level.

The Plymouth Arts Center invites the community to slow down and savor the moment with a brand-new monthly event, Two Albums, Two Cocktails, launching on Wednesday, February 18, from 4 to 6pm and continuing on the third Wednesday of every month. This unique listening experience pairs two iconic, classic albums with two expertly crafted cocktails, creating the perfect midweek escape. Guests are encouraged to simply sit back, relax, and enjoy the music as it was meant to be heard—without interruptions.

Friday, March 27th, 6:30 PM, Tickets $5 Students, $10 Adults. Plymouth native, Annika Nelson, a student at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee, will present a special senior recital as she prepares for graduation. This performance offers the greater Plymouth community an opportunity to experience the culmination of her undergraduate studies in classical guitar prior to her official graduation recital.
