Whether you’re an experienced artist or have been thinking about getting back to painting, the Plymouth Arts Center invites you to join Open Studio with artist Lori Beringer. Bring a work in progress or start something completely new! Held Mondays and Tuesdays from 1:30–4:30 p.m., Open Studio offers a relaxed, welcoming environment where artists can work at their own pace while Lori demonstrates techniques, shares her expertise and provides helpful, individual guidance. New participants are warmly encouraged to join this creative and supportive group!

Thinner and paint medium, as well as easels, are provided. A complete supply list will be made available to participants.

The fall Open Studio session runs September through December 2026, with classes meeting on the following dates: • September: 21, 22, and 28, 29 • October: 12, 13, and 19, 20 • November: 2, 3, and 9, 10 • December: 7, 8, and 14,15 The fee is $140 per month or $40 per individual class. Monthly fees do not carry over. Pre-registration is required.

Open Studio will be held at the Plymouth Arts Center, 520 E. Mill Street, Plymouth, WI.

Meet the Teacher

Lori Beringer

Lori Beringer is known for her bold brushwork and expressive paintings, whether capturing the charm of a quaint building or the emotion of a portrait. Although primarily self-taught, Beringer credits workshops with fine instruction, as well as studio experience with renowned artist Dan Gerhartz, with helping to shape her artistic development.

Beringer paints plein air throughout the year, primarily throughout Wisconsin, while her travels have taken her painting across the United States, Mexico and France. Her work has earned numerous awards and honors. Most recently, she was selected to participate in the Faces of Wisconsin Exhibition at the Cedarburg Art Museum and was juried into the 20th Annual National American Impressionists Exhibition in New York, New York. She also received an Honorable Mention in Portraiture at the 22nd Juried National Oil Painters of America Exhibition, among numerous other awards throughout her career.

Joye Moon’s Watercolor Workshop will deal with exploring traditional and experimental watercolor techniques that can be incorporated into your individual style of painting.
