NATURE OBSERVATIONS DRAWING WORKSHOP WITH ARTIST BONNIE SCHETSKI Saturday, August 5, 2023, 10:00am-2:30pm (There will be a 1/2 hour lunch break on your own at noon) There is nothing more restorative than being in nature, slowing down and appreciating creation. In this workshop you will learn the benefits of observation and how this simple practice will enhance your drawing time and efficiency. We will explore drawing with line, shape and simple values. Free expression and mark making will be our guide. You will gain efficiency in observation, rendering in micro observation , regular observation, and macro observation. Learn the importance of expressive line making and doing more with less to achieve effective values.
*SUPPLIES NEEDED: Ebony Pencil, Micron Pens, Watercolor Set and Brush, and Sketchbook
Bonnie Schetski currently lives and teaches art in Wisconsin. Inspired by the healing power of water, her work is informed by the waterscapes and its habitat of the Midwest and those observed during her travels. She received her Bachelors of Science at UW-La Crosse and a MFA at New Mexico State University, where she focused on drawing printmaking and photography. After receiving her Masters degree she went on to teach at several universities, including UW- La Crosse and Winona State University. She currently runs and teaches art out of her own space, Bonseye Studio. She has shown her work nationally and has been published in the Coulee Region Women Health and Living Magazine and Photography Forum Magazine. She has also received grants to support visiting artists while working at Winona State University.

Summer Art Camps for Grades 5-8 with instructor Liz Higgins. Class time is: 10:30 am to Noon. This is an art project based day camp where each student can explore the process of the art concept selected for each session, to create fun and imaginative masterpieces.
